“To bring heaven down to earth”

Alan Watts stated that to learn a new skill in order to express yourself is “To bring heaven down to earth, and express heaven in terms of earth.” He believed that true pleasure could only be found in learning to express yourself in the world.

You see, full expression of oneself is a very simple way of defining purpose. We were brought into this world with dreams, designs, and purpose. To live this purpose out is the highest realization of existence. And we can only do this by learning the skills necessary to achieve it.

So what is your purpose? What are your dreams? What designs are there on your life? Finally, what skills will it take to chase after them and bring them into reality in this world we share? If you can even think of just one, then gear up, go after it, and make it happen.
